As we enter the second half of the high school volleyball season, the top contenders for district, region and even state championships have made themselves known in Southwest Virginia.

Some of these squads are perennial powerhouses off to another prolific season, while others are burgeoning programs hoping to make history in next month’s playoffs.

VHSL region tournaments begin Nov. 1. State championships are slated for Nov. 22.

Here’s a look at the 10 best Timesland volleyball teams this fall, based on winning percentage.

1. Christiansburg

The Blue Demons are a perfect 17-0 this season as they aim to break through in the postseason with a Region 3D title and a Class 3 state championship berth. They lost to Hidden Valley in the region championship and in the state semifinals last year.
