DOÑA ANA COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — In southern New Mexico, there's a small town with a lot of history. Mesilla is home to a variety of local shops and restaurants, all just ten minutes away from Las Cruces. If you're looking for a day trip in New Mexico, it's a town worth considering.
Stop by the farmer's market
According to the Town of Mesilla, this is one of the oldest mercados in the US. It started back in 1857. It boasts hand-crafted jewelry, original artwork, and local produce. The market is held weekly at the Mesilla plaza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
