KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Johnson County announced Friday that it will be investing nearly $44 million in two infrastructure programs that will improve roads and stormwater systems.
The Johnson County Board of County Commissioners approved the $43.8 million for the two programs during its meeting on Thursday.
Thirteen projects in 13 cities across the county will receive funding through the County Assistance Road System (CARS). County funding of $18.8 million will support the top-priority project in each of the cities receiving funding.
The Stormwater Management Program's 2026 plan will get $25 million in funding for 19 system assessment and replacement capital projects, as well as four watershed improvements.
