You must forgive my grandfathers and, come to think of it, their generation. They didn’t get the memo on quantitative easing, culture wars, diversity, colonialism, and influencers. Heck, they even conflated truth with facts.
But cut them some slack. One earned a living from a rural general store in Nova Scotia while raising 10 children through two world wars and the Great Depression. The other was a southern Ontario farmer who raised a smaller family (six kids) while facing the same challenges. He succeeded through a cascade of changes to farm life that included electricity, plumbing and tractors.
