TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Tucson Police Department has identified the victim in the fatal crash involving two off-road vehicles near Valencia Road.

Cheryl Jeanene Cathey, 56, was identified as the victim in the fatal accident.

According to TPD, the crash involving two RZR vehicles occurred just after 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 9, in the desert area south of the Pima Air & Space Museum near Valencia Road.

TPD Operations Division East officers and the Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene. The passenger of the red Polaris RZR, identified as 56-year-old Cathey, was pronounced dead at the scene, TPD said.

The driver of the red Polaris RZR was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
