FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- The Fort Wayne Police Department has arrested a man for owning machine guns, or more specifically, owning devices to turn a regular firearm into a machine gun.
At 8:32 p.m. Thursday, the FWPD searched 18-year-old Tyshawn Chambers' home, where he lived with his mother. The Gang & Violent Crimes Unit of the FWPD said it had reason to believe that Chambers was connected to a machine gun trafficking investigation.
Chambers has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Machine Gun, a Level 5 felony.
Chambers also has another active charge against him related to a separate incident. He was charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 6 felony, back in April. He was released on bond. Before then, he was charged in connection with a shooting
