Possibly the best basketball team to come to St. Louis University this season will be at Chaifetz Arena on Saturday, but only a few people will get to see them play.

Just three weeks after starting practice, SLU will play a closed-door scrimmage with Iowa on Saturday. Opening day of SLU’s season is still three weeks away, and while this is early in the preseason to have a scrimmage with another team, SLU coach Josh Schertz likes it as a way to gather information for the weeks ahead and to prepare for the team’s one exhibition game, at Bradley on Oct. 23, which will then prepare them for the season opener against Southeast Missouri State on Nov. 3.
