AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) on Friday asked for the public's help in obtaining new information related to the 2001 murder of 46-year-old James Charles "Jimmy" Schuessler in Mason County.
DPS said a reward of up to $6,000 is available if someone submits a tip that leads to an arrest in the case before the next featured Texas Rangers cold case is announced.
On October 14, 2001, Schuessler was found dead at his ranch house along State Highway 29 in rural Mason County. DPS said he was last seen alive on October 13. Investigators believe someone met with Schuessler at his home and got into an argument, and an altercation occurred.
