Detroit — Coach Todd McLellan wanted "evidence" about his players to begin the regular season, something to use as a base, to grow and improve.

McLellan got plenty of it in Thursday's 5-1 loss to Montreal and not much of it was pleasant.

"A lot (of evidence), too much evidence," said McLellan Friday, after viewing the video and meeting with his team. "They're all guilty."
