JONESBORO — On Oct. 7, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners held its first of two hearings for impact fees and met to vote to establish an Impact Fee Committee.

The committee would be formed for the purpose of imposing impact fees within unincorporated Clayton County.

This comes after a Sept. 9 work session meeting, where Deputy Chief Operating Officer Landry Merkison refreshed the board on the Capital Improvements Element (CIE) that was previously approved and submitted to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCS) with two minor revisions. The work session also included the Impact Fee Advisory Committee completing the required meetings, and it was recommended to move forward. Clayton BOC looking to pass impact fee ordinance in October
