Buckle up, outdoors enthusiasts: the change in fall foliage color is about to hit in a big way.

The latest update from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources shows a big shift, and counties across the state are about to see peak color.

“Last week’s warm weather hit the pause button on peak color across much of Pennsylvania ... but that’s about to change!” reads a post on the DCNR Facebook page .

The post goes on to say that “with cooler temperatures finally rolling in this week, you can expect a big burst of color by the weekend and beyond.”

The DCNR website notes that “the stable, warm weather pattern last week seemed to stall the foliage transition throughout Pennsylvania. This week’s decline in daily temperature, finally feeling like true fall weather,
