AVONDALE ESTATES, Ga. — Avila Real Estate and Hedgewood Homes attended the Oct. 8 Avondale Estates City Commission meeting and presented the first concepts to build a $350 million development with nearly 800 residential units.

The residential units will be both homes and apartments. The development will be located in the Avondale Estates downtown area. It will span 18 acres and consist of two separate parts connected by a path.

According to city Commissioner Lisa Shortell, the project is the culmination of over a decade of work.

Last year, Avila Real Estate announced it would demolish a 13-acre concrete lot stretching across the north of the city’s downtown. The company has owned the land for 10 years.
