CLEVELAND, Ohio — Northeast Ohio will enjoy a pleasant fall day Friday before clouds and a few showers return over the weekend as a weak low pressure system drifts across the Great Lakes.
After a frosty start for some inland areas, sunshine and a light southerly breeze should make for a comfortable day on Friday. High pressure over the northeast U.S. will keep skies mostly sunny, with just a few passing high clouds. Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 60s to low 70s — near normal for early October.
Conditions will stay dry and mild under partly clear skies for Week 8 high school football games across Northeast Ohio. Fans will need hoodies and light jackets as temperatures fall through the 60s during the first half and dip into the 50s by the final whistle.
