CLEVELAND, Ohio — A South Euclid man is accused of carjacking a woman in a parking lot in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Quinlan Stubblefield, 19, stole the woman’s car as she sat in her car outside the Canal Exploration Center in Valley View, according to court records.

He is charged in federal court in Cleveland with carjacking. U.S. District Magistrate Judge James Grimes ordered that Stubblefield remain in custody as his case proceeds to a grand jury. Federal prosecutors took the case because the incident happened in a national park.

Attorney Leif Christman said it is too early in the case to comment.

The robbery happened about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 28. The woman told Valley View police and National Park Service rangers that she was on the phone when Stubblefield walked up to her car.
