MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Montgomery County drivers can expect to see some changes on the roadways, and those organizing the projects said it’s all about increasing safety.
Deputy County Administrator Chris Lawrence said the Board of Supervisors takes years to plan projects like these road improvements and design them in a way that combats some of the issues drivers are facing.
“We see accident data, and we get input from the public that says this is really a problem and we need some help,” said Lawrence.
Turn lanes will be added to Route 8 between Christiansburg and Floyd County at the intersection of Prices Fork and Peppers Ferry Road as well as Alleghany Springs Road by 460 in Shawsville.
