CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A new billboard featuring conservative activist Charlie Kirk has appeared along a busy Corpus Christi highway, put up by local Republican groups to honor the late activist and promote political unity.

The billboard, located on South Padre Island Drive and Everhart Road, displays Kirk's image with the words "We Are Charlie." It went up this month and is funded by the Nueces County Republican Party and the Corpus Christi Trump Train group.

Joe Michael Perez, founder of the Corpus Christi Trump Train, said the billboard serves multiple purposes beyond honoring Kirk's memory.

"I decided to post it because Charlie Kirk was an individual who spoke about what conservatives believe in," Perez said. "He had debates but they were open minded."
