ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The family of former Dunwoody head football coach Michael Nash is remembering him with an upcoming celebration of life.
The 51-year-old was a well-known high school coach at Chattahoochee County High School, and before that, he was a coach at Dunwoody High School, leaving a major impact on students.
“Michael was more than my little brother; he was my best friend,” Leigh Townsend, Nash’s sister, said. “From a young age, he made it his life to build young people up.”
Nash was living with his sister temporarily before his sudden death after an emergency surgery in September. Nash had been battling liver failure.
“It was just such a special time to have that,” Townsend said. “I really think God gave me that extra time to be with him.”
