Loop 360 closed due to downed power lines

AUSTIN, Texas — Both directions of Loop 360 in Austin are closed due to emergency utility repairs on Friday evening.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the roadway is closed at Cedar Street. According to officials with Austin Energy, a truck hit a power pole causing downed power lines to fall across the highway.

Crews are responding to the scene and are working on restoring power to customers in and around the area.

Officials urge drivers to use an use an alternate route, if possible.
