BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The annual Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo is making its return starting this weekend.
Brazos Valley has held the fair and rodeo for 14 years, and festivities begin Friday. Those festivities include a BBQ cook-off with brisket, chicken, ribs, beans, and margaritas.
Additionally, students from around the state can participate in welding and woodworking competitions. The objective of the competitions is to create picnic tables within the allotted time.
While preparations of the fair began months ago, the team only had a week to assemble all the elements. The volunteers collaborated with one another to make sure everything was done in a timely manner.
