FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - At Kids Zone, you’ll find a group of kids learning different languages and cultures.

For director Dayrin Woodson, bringing people together and sharing cultures has always been her mission.

“I’ve always worked with kids. I am from Guatemala. I studied over there as a teacher, and I came here, took my CDA as well, and it’s been my passion. It’s more than a passion; it’s a lifestyle for me.” Dayrin Woodson.

But lately, that lifestyle and the families she serves are facing growing challenges.

Fewer children can now enroll in programs like ‘On My Way Pre-K,’ and the families who do qualify are receiving less financial assistance than before.
