Tangled String Studios hand-built acoustic guitars and mandolins played by rock stars like the Black Crowes’ Rich Robinson and local heroes like Dave Anderson and Mike Roberts . A year after opening spring 2012, Tangled String, owned/operated by retired rocket scientist Danny Davis , converted part of its Lowe Mill space into a vibey listening-room music venue . They booked stars like Amanda Shires and John Paul White . Local standouts like Kelvin Wooten , Microwave Dave and Ingrid Felts .
Sadly, Davis announced October 10 via Facebook that Tangled String will shutter permanently this New Year’s Day.
