CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) — The Clovis Police Department reported that one person was killed in a motorcycle wreck in the early morning hours on Friday in Clovis.

According to Clovis PD, officers were called to the intersection of Grand and Gidding Streets on a report of a wreck with injuries. On arrival, CPD said officers found a man down with a motorcycle lying on top of him, and he was bleeding from the head.

Officers said the rider, identified as Johnny Roberts, 67, showed no signs of life, and officers quickly began life-saving measures.

Roberts was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Clovis Police Department, the crash appeared to be a single-vehicle crash, and no indication of another vehicle's involvement in this incident was discovered.
