AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — One Chair at a Time announced that athletes and supporters are set to gather Saturday at the Amarillo Gun Club for the annual Wheelchair Sporting Clay Shoot.

The event aims to bring together adaptive shooters and community members for a morning of competition, camaraderie, and purpose raising money to purchase three specialized wheelchair racers for local athletes. Each chair costs about $4,300.

Participants were required to bring their own firearms, ammunition, and safety gear, with sport wheelchairs provided by organizers. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 9 a.m. and shooting at 9:30 a.m. A community cookout will wrap up the day’s activities.
