COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division responded this week to questions from Rep. Ralph Norman regarding the shooting death of Logan Federico in Columbia.
SLED released both letters sent by Norman to the agency on Oct. 9 and a response sent to Norman by SLED Chief Mark Keel on Oct. 10.
Federico, a 22-year-old from North Carolina, was killed in May while visiting friends in Columbia. Authorities said the shooting happened during what they called a crime spree by her alleged killer, 30-year-old Alexander Dickey.
In the time since, questions have arisen regarding Dickey’s criminal history and how his cases were handled in the state’s judicial system.
A WIS investigation found Dickey had a long criminal history going back nearly a decade, but had avoided a long
