MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Marion Police Department updated the public about a bomb threat incident at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center. They are asking the public if they have any information on who the caller was, to contact them.
The basement and first floor of Deaconess Illinois Medical Center was evacuated due to a reported bomb threat on Friday, October 10, according to the Marion Police Department. Police said the hospital received a call from a female who stated there was a bomb at the hospital on the first floor.
Police said their officers and local firefighters conducted a thorough search but found no incendiary devices. The Illinois Secretary of State Bomb Squad, assisted by two bomb-sniffing dogs, also searched the hospital with negative results.
