COLUMBIA, S.C. — The cooler temperatures will continue through the weekend with chances for rainfall in the Midlands.

A developing coastal low off the Southeast shoreline will maintain the breezy conditions while pulling some moisture inland. This system could bring a few stray showers to the eastern Midlands Friday night.

Through the overnight hours, wind gusts could reach 25-30 mph with the highest gusts expected in the eastern Midlands. A Lake Wind Advisory continues into late Saturday morning as isolated gusts up to 35 mph are possible.

Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution, as strong winds and choppy waters could make conditions hazardous and may capsize smaller vessels.
