CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports that a homicide investigation was launched Friday evening.

Officers said the investigation is happening along Wallingford Street, located off West Exmore Street near Nations Crossing Road in south Charlotte. Further details about the investigation were not immediately available, however. The initial report was shared around 6:30 p.m.
