Helen M. Whitmarsh, 82, passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Kinzers, Pa., Helen moved to Rochester after graduating from Albion High School, where she began a life rooted in compassion, service, and devotion to family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clifton and Helen Specht, and her brother, John Specht. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Monroe “Vern” Whitmarsh; her children, Stacey (Alan) Illerbrun, Paula (David) Taylor, and Amy (Jerry) Newsome; her cherished grandchildren, David (Anissa) Illerbrun, Adam (Lydia) Illerbrun, Lukas (Shannon) Illerbrun, Zachary Taylor, Logan Taylor, Melissa Newsome, and Sheldon Newsome; and her adored great-grandchildren — seven girls and one boy — who were truly the light of her life.
