Scotland holds moment of silence for E.E. Smith football players

Terry Sanford traveled to Scotland for a Week 8 rivalry game, and an intimate moment was held before opening kickoff.

After the death of three E.E. Smith football seniors, Jai’Hyon Elliott, Trevor Merritt and Nick Williams on Oct. 8, the Scots honored and paid respects to the student-athletes with a moment of silence ahead of the game out of respect to the Fayetteville community.

The three seniors’ death hit home for the Bulldogs as one of the fallen Golden Bulls, Elliott, began his high school career at Terry Sanford as a member of the JV team.

Terry Sanford (5-1) will kick off against the Scots at 7 p.m. in efforts to overcome an 0-3 losing streak over the last two seasons.
