A series of public events continues this weekend, leading up to the grand opening of the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport.

Several hundred people are expected to attend the official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the $1.7 billion modernization terminal. Advertisement

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be a public open house, where 10,000 visitors will get a first-hand look at the new landside terminal .

"People will start at departure, they'll be able to check out the ticket area, the center atrium area, they will be able to go to the security checkpoint, and then they will be able to go down to the arrivals level," said airport spokesperson Bob Kerlik.
