PITTSBURGH —

Pittsburgh police said a woman was in custody Friday evening after a reported carjacking on the North Side and a crash in Downtown.

Officers responded to a carjacking report in the 1100 block of Federal Street in the North Side just after 5:50 p.m. Police said the vehicle crossed the Rachel Carson Bridge, and officers tried to pull the car over at Penn Avenue and 7th Street in Downtown. Advertisement

Police said the suspect fled from the attempted traffic stop, and the vehicle struck a police car at Grant Street and Fifth Avenue before colliding with another vehicle and hitting the Omni William Penn Hotel.

Video shared by a Pittsburgh's Action News 4 viewer showed officers rushing to the suspect's vehicle on Oliver Avenue after it struck the hotel.
