Woman in her 70s dies in hospital after being struck by driver in west end

A woman in her 70s has died in hospital after she was struck by a driver in Toronto's west end Friday, police say.

The collision happened at around 4 p.m. in the area of Lansdowne and Lappin avenues, south of Dupont Street, police say.

The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later died.

Police said they would provide an update on Friday night.
