MARTINSBURG, W.Va. –A former prosecuting attorney was sworn in Friday to serve as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia.
Matthew L. Harvey was confirmed to the position by the U.S. Senate on October 7. He was first nominated by President Trump on June 30.
Harvey will oversee a staff of 47 employees, including 20 attorneys and 27 non-attorney support personnel across Wheeling, Martinsburg, Clarksburg, and Elkins.
“I am grateful to President Trump placing his trust in me to fulfill his promise to make our communities safe and support our officers,” Harvey said. “I am looking forward to building and strengthening partnerships with law enforcement in the district.”
