STANDISH, Maine - The death of a man in Standish is being investigated by the Maine State Police.

Police said the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was called to 715 River Road at about 6:50 p.m. on Oct. 3 for a reported disturbance.

Sheriff’s deputies found a man dead inside the home and requested assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit.

The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy was conducted.

Police said the victim has been identified as 49-year-old Matthew Hamilton, of Cumberland County.

At this time, authorities are not sharing the cause and manner of Hamilton’s death.

Police said all people involved in the incident have been identified, and there is no threat to the public.
