WATERVILLE, Maine - Full-time faculty at Thomas College in Waterville have voted to join a union, pending certification by the National Labor Relations Board.
A spokesperson for faculty tells Maine’s Total Coverage that, before voting to unionize, faculty passed a vote of no confidence in college president Jeannine Diddle Uzzi . She is the sixth president of the college and was inaugurated in April 2025.
Uzzi joined Thomas College from Adler University where she served as the vice president of academic affairs. Before that, she served as provost and executive vice president for academic and student affairs at the University of Southern Maine (USM).
In the vote of no confidence, staff at Thomas College cited concerns about transparency, leadership decisions, and lack of responsivenes
