NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — With the mayoral election, city council races and a host of open municipal seats, the political landscape in New Orleans is set for significant change.

Voters in New Orleans say campaigning is one thing, but fulfilling promises is another. Political analyst Silas Lee explains that although many new personalities are running for office, their campaigns are driven by the city's long-standing issues, rather than fresh ideas.

"Once they get in office, they will see some of the challenges that they may not have been aware of. They will try to navigate those challenges to deliver better services, as well as being more responsive to the needs of citizens in this community," said Lee.
