COLUMBIA — The Missouri Charter School Commission on Thursday approved Job Point's initial proposal to create a charter school in Columbia.

Now, Job Point must create an application for approval by the Missouri Charter School Commission, which it hopes to complete by January 2027.

Job Point's charter school, if approved, would be the 39th in the state. The school would join Kansas City's 20 charter schools and St. Louis' 18 charter schools.

However, Noah Devine, executive director of the Missouri Charter Public School Association, said the process for approval is hard.
