Chittenango, N.Y. — A Madison County couple has been charged with felonies and misdemeanors after deputies say they physically abused a 6-year-old boy.

On Thursday, deputies executed a search warrant at 620 Manor Drive in the village of Chittenango and arrested Holly M. Craner, 24, and Brandon J. Griffin, 30, according to a news release Friday from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Both were charged with second-degree assault (a felony) and several misdemeanors: endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree aggravated harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing, and third-degree menacing.

Court documents allege that on Oct. 1, Griffin assisted Craner as she put pressure on the 6-year-old child’s neck. That same day, Griffin allegedly smacked the child in the mouth and spanked
