CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Dr. Raashad Fitzpatrick has been named the new superintendent of the Cherokee County School District, following a year-long search.
Dr. Fitzpatrick, who previously served as the principal of Gaffney High School from 2013 to 2019, plans to focus on improving test scores, increasing graduation rates, and ensuring students are prepared for college or the workforce.
"I worked here in Cherokee County as principal of Gaffney High School from 2013 to 2019," said Dr. Fitzpatrick.
The Cherokee County School District has been under the leadership of an interim superintendent for the past year and a half.
In February 2024, Former Cherokee County superintendent Dr. Dana Fall accepted the position at Spartanburg School District 4. But on the same day, District 4 annou
