SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A man was convicted after a trial by jury for a two-week series of arsons in February 2024 where he torched several cars, including two Tesla Model Ys and a Cadillac Escalade, prosecutors announced Friday.

Armando Salvador, 63, was convicted of eight counts of arson of another's property and two counts of unlawfully causing a fire, according to San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.

The first arson incidents started at 6 a.m. on Feb. 18, 2024, according to prosecutors. Salvador started the fiery spree at Campton Place where he set a Cadillac Escalade ablaze followed by five other vehicles in the area of Geary and O'Farrell streets.
