NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Emergency crews responded to an active boat fire off the coast of South Carolina on Monday.
North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue responded to a boat fire around 4 p.m. in the ocean near Cherry Grove.
Chief Billy Floyd with the NMBFR confirmed that members of the North Myrtle Beach Ocean Rescue went out with jet skis and came into contact with the boat crew, who were close to shore.
Floyd also said that the people on the boat were able to deploy a life raft and get off the boat before the fire got too bad.
No injuries are reported at this time.
Horry County Fire Rescue and the North Myrtle Beach Police Department were seen using boats and a drone to help out at the scene.
