ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A HAZMAT team is on the scene of a train derailment in St. Louis County.

Lt. Jason Brice, public information officer for Lemay Fire Protection District, told First Alert 4 that four train cars were involved in the incident near Weber and New Hampshire Avenue. He said a cautionary evacuation is in the area as there is no confirmed leak.

According to Lt. Brice, one of the cars contained a sodium hydroxide solution.

The crash involved a Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) train that was carrying both sodium hydroxide solution and hydrogen peroxide at one point of the journey. No leak has been spotted, first responders said.

About 20 homes have been evacuated along New Hampshire Avenue near the derailment, first responders told First Alert 4.
