SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- The decision to close and consolidate Christ the King Elementary School will continue despite appeals.

According to a release sent out by Divine Mercy Pastorate, the Board of Directors vote to uphold the original decision to consolidate Christ the King Elementary School during the 2025-2026 school year.

Father Paul Rutten wrote in the email that those impacted by the decision can, "walk through this difficult moment with our eyes on Christ and our hearts open to what He has in store for us".
