WASHINGTON D.C., DC — An 81-year-old woman's 2023 death prompted the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to issue a safety alert for more than 86,000 OasisSpace bed rails Thursday.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the alert urging people to immediately stop using the bed rails because users can become "entrapped within the bed rail or between the rail and mattress, creating an asphyxiation hazard that poses a risk of serious injury or death."

The alert impacts bed rails distributed and sold by Gold Kernal LLC on OasisSpace.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com and third party websites and sellers from July 2019 through February 2025 for between $30 and $108.

Consumers who have bed rails with the following model numbers and dimensions are encouraged to stop using them. Photo
