INDIANAPOLIS — Building bridges, breaking down biases, and strengthening understanding between law enforcement and the community they serve is what a lock-in Friday night in Indianapolis was all about.
The event at New Revelation Christian Church was part of the Faith and Blue Weekend.
"It's about developing youth, period. I mean, they are the next generation. They are the next leaders of this world and so what we're doing here is preparing the next version of leadership in this community, in this state, in this country," said Lawrence Police Sgt. Paul Lushin.
He's talking about young people like Cameron Washington, who is a member of the nonprofit New B.O.Y. , which joined other nonprofit organizations, like Inner Beauty, that collaborated with IMPD, Lawrence Police and other agencies
