Organizers of this year's Orcutt Christmas Parade are putting out a call for volunteers to ensure the longstanding tradition continues without a hitch.
Scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13, the parade is expected to draw hundreds of viewers and dozens of entries. With last year’s event rained out, this year’s parade will go forward “rain or shine,” according to Logistics Coordinator Steve Strachan.
To make that possible, however, 20 to 30 volunteers are urgently needed to help with traffic control, parking and on-the-ground coordination, he said.
“This is an all-volunteer event,” Strachan said. “We can’t do the parade without assistance.”
The parade, now in its sixth decade, has long been a staple of Orcutt’s holiday scene.
