LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Louisville's homeless services division has a new name and renewed mission.
It's now called the Louisville Homeless Engagement and Assessment Response Team (HEART).
Six days a week, outreach specialist Tristan Perry walks Louisville's streets checking on people, offering food, clothes, and resources.
"We'll set up a time, I'll come pick you up, and I can take you over to the coalition," Perry said.
He's part of HEART, the city's rebranded homeless mission team.
"We try to make sure and keep, you know, like. Supplies and supplies on hand. Some basic things, like, bottles of water, socks, things like that," he said.
Perry says balance is at the center of HEART's mission.
"Really trying to focus on both, you know, both aspects of working to help the folks who are exp
