COAL CITY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The top-ranked Class AA Independence Patriots kept their perfect season alive Friday night with a commanding 49-6 victory over the No. 14 Westside Renegades.
The Patriots’ high-powered offense once again proved too much to handle, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back.
Independence, now 6-0 on the season, has struggled to be seriously challenged (with the exception of the Herbert Hoover matchup) as they continue their pursuit of another deep postseason run.
Westside, meanwhile, struggled to find momentum against the stout Independence defense, managing only one score late in the game. The Renegades drop to 3-3 with the loss.
Independence will hit the road next week to face Barnesville High School in Barnesville, Ohio, while Westside travels to
