Police in Lake Worth are searching for a brown pit bull and its owner after they say the dog attacked a woman at a local dog park Wednesday night, leaving her with serious injuries.
“I got a phone call from my mom… I just hear her say, ‘Help, help, help.’ And by the way that she was saying it, I could tell that she was out of breath and she was struggling,” said Kamrahn Pate, the victim’s son.
Pate said he and his brother rushed to Dakota Dog Park in Lake Worth and found their mother, Christina Pate, covered in blood and drifting in and out of consciousness.
She told her sons she had been sitting on a bench with the family’s two dogs when the pit bull attacked. She said it was unprovoked and that the dog and its owner fled, leaving her to call 911.
