George R.R. Martin — he of “Game of Thrones” fame — praises Norwell graduate Ti Mikkel’s “The Archivist” as “the best debut novel I’ve read in years.”
He may be biased, but he may also have a point.
“The Archivist,” being released Tuesday by City Owl Press, is the story of 22-year-old Cora Moreau, whose extremely rare rH null blood type marks her as a potential candidate for time travel.
So does her lineage. Cora’s mother, Sophie, died in a mysterious car crash in Spain while in pursuit of the time travel goal. Cora’s father, Raymond, is estranged from the effort as a result. He is a gardener in Durango, Colorado, where Cora works as a diner waitress before receiving a life- altering offer that lands her in the same subterranean laboratory complex in Spain where her mother worked.
